What a luxurious day at Emirates Palace Spa. They say it is synonymous with luxury and indulgence! I had the honor of attending the launch of two new product lines to their royal spa. Both, Thalion and Linda Meredith is exclusive to Emirates Palace Spa. Read on further for recommendations on three new treatments to try!
THREE TREATMENTS TO TRY
Calcium and Magnesium Mineral Therapy 75 minutes | AED 800* (includes VAT)
Thalion have created a mineral rich treatment containing calcium and magnesium to help restore essential and precious nutrients back into your body. Begin with a sea salt rich scrub and steam to prepare the skin for the mineral marine mud wrap. Your body will absorb all of the beneficial properties that these wonderful elements has to offer.
My personal experience
I had the opportunity to try this treatment out for myself!
On arrival I was given a rose tea which prepped my body for the treatment. My therapist directed me to a double treatment room which was complete with two massage beds, a sink, a change area, steam room/shower, and a large rose filled tub. The décor was a Moroccan inspired theme with bedoiun patterned linens. I swooned over this room and think its perfect for a romantic couples treat!
I quickly change into the lush (and fleecy) bathrobe, they also provide other amenities such as shower caps, disposable underwear, comb, shaving kit and a box for your jewelry. All of these items were available for purchase in the case you wanted to keep an Emirates Palace robe or jewelry box of your own.
I ran the small gong which prompted my therapist to come in and start the treatment. First, I got a foot bath where it soaked in rose water and relaxed the mind. I got into the massage bed and started on the Thalion Body Scrub. It felt brittle on my skin which got rid of all my dead skin cells. The body was ready for the mineral marine mud wrap. Thalion products are made of seaweed which is beneficial properties to the body. In this wrap your skin will absorb the calcium and magnesium elements so that your skin is restored and your body will become more relaxed. My therapist gave me such an amazing head massage during this time, all your worries go away. After the body wrap, I was prepped for my steam. Remember to drink lots of liquids prior and after this treatment as your body sweats quite a bit from this treatment. The steam lasted approximately 10 minutes but you can adjust according to what your body can handle. A quick shower was needed to get rid of the clay-like excess. Finally, the Thalion body butter is applied all over your body to complete the treatment. It was 75 minutes of pure bliss.
As I am writing this review a few days later, the day of my massage I felt so relaxed and worry-free. I slept amazingly that night and was sure to hydrate my body. My skin throughout has been feeling great – my legs used to be super dry but has been feeling and looking radiant. I had eczema on my elbows and after the treatment it has subsided.
