Las Brisas Brunch at Emirates Palace

Over the weekend we were invited to check out the Las Brisas Brunch at Emirates Palace. Las Brisas translates to “Breeze” in Spanish and we found it to be quite appropriate with the gentle, relaxing drafts we felt while sitting on their terrace poolside. We sat near their “water hammocks” and it really made us feel like we were on an island vacation. Apart from their lovely ambience, their weekend market set up of food stalls was surely the main focus of this magnificent brunch.

As we entered the market, you can see food stalls as far as you can look. There must have been over a dozen food stalls which had chefs ready at each station ensuring the food quality is fresh and served according to your expectations. All our senses were heightened at this market – The smell of the garlic will fill your tastebuds as you pass the paella, the touch of a few waterdrops from the fresh lobsters, taste of savory tapas and the sight of all the colors of the world fill the sunny blue sky. It was a perfect day to brunch.

Las Brisas brunch is on every Friday at Emirates Palace from 12:30pm to 4pm. AED 370 including soft drinks, AED 465 including hops and grapes, AED 680 including bubbles. For reservations call +971 02 690 7999. #BrunchAtThePalace

Highlights

  • Their cheeses – we saw an interactive demonstration of how they make mozzarella, they did an impressive 5 metre stretch of cheese!
  • Oysters – shuck to order oysters guaranteed it was fresh!
  • Lobsters – They only give out tails and claws (THE best parts!) You can see them freshly boiling lobsters right in front of you.
  • The Quiche and Tart – the Ricotta and Grille Vegetable Tart was one of the best I had.
  • Paella – during the brunch the chefs are cooking the paella in front of you. From the smell of the cooking, I had to have a taste, or two!
  • Potato Bar – first time I’ve seen a potato bar and I love anything made with potatoes!
  • The Carvery – Their prime ribs paired with Yorkshire pudding – can you say YASSSS
  • Caffeine Corner – After this heavy brunch, a coffee really hit the spot. They serve it in Emirates Palace takeaway coffee cups!
  • La Patisserie – each pastry was crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Francois Leo. So satisfying!
  • Gelati Crepes – made to order crepes, I paired mine with ice cream of course!
  • Boulangerie – candy and macarons, I think I’m in heaven! The macarons are exceptional. These are the same ones they serve at Le Cafe.

Throughout the brunch, there is a live band playing popular hits. Guests began heading to the dance floor for some dancing at around 3pm. Sitting pool side definitely set the mood for a good relaxing time. Their quality of the food is superb and their market concept is sure to impress any guest. With such a vast selection, I wasn’t able to try everything from all the stalls – I definitely want to be back sometime soon with the lovely weather upon us!

Cheers!
