Le Café by the Fountains, Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Where else can you enjoy a full meal decked out in gold? We enjoyed quite a treat at Emirates Palace Le Café by the fountains. At this newly opened café, right next to the fountains at the base of the Palace, you could enjoy the famous Emirates Palace Gold Cappuccino while adoring the stunning surroundings of the 7-star property. Read on below for the must-order golden treats to make you feel like a fitting king or queen at the palace.
Emirates Palace Cappuccino
This is the signature beverage at Emirates Palace and a must-order for first-timers to the café. It is not just any regular cappuccino as it is hand-poured with sprinkles of 23-karat gold flakes. The frothy fresh milk is topped with artwork in the form of the shape of the palace. The beverage is priced high at AED 60 due to the amount of gold flakes sprinkled in the drink. I suggest this is a must-order if you have not had it before. Else, you could opt for a regular cappuccino at AED 34 if you don’t need the extra sparkle in your day.
Ice Gold
The other day was the first time I had the Emirates Palace ice cream, which they call, Ice Gold. The name is as fancy as the treat. I believe this dessert is a fairly new item on their menu and it is best enjoyed at their Le Café by the fountains (excluding summer). On a nice day, look for the café by the fountains as they have set up cushy lounge furniture for their guests to indulge in their drinks and ice cream. My friend and I each had an ice gold, he ordered a chocolate one topped with 23-karat gold and I ordered the vanilla, with of course, more gold. If you cannot decide, you can get a mix of both. These are home-made soft ice cream so once we gotten them we quickly snapped as many photos as we could before they began to melt. The portion size was quite sizable (compared to soft serve ice cream stands). The gold film did not have much taste to it especially when it had meld into the vanilla ice cream. However, it sure made me feel super fancy with my gold ice cream. I don’t believe they offer any other type of soft serve ice cream at the café, so the gold will have to do! You could enjoy this treat inside at Le Café, but the best place is outside at Le Café by the fountains, it is priced at AED 40.
Camel Burger
Besides visiting Le Café by the Fountains, we also sat inside at their Le Café near their main lobby. Here you could order mains and have more choices in terms of beverages and desserts. My friend opted for a camel burger which is one of the must-have items here at Le Café. All of my friends and my family love this item as not only does it come with a delectable and tender camel burger but it comes with my favorite fries in the world – chickpea fries. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, it is of course topped with 23-karat gold flakes too! It is priced at an affordable AED110. I almost always opt for the burger option as the chickpea fries alone is already at AED 70.
Smoked Salmon
Another new golden favorite of mine at Le Café is the House Smoked Scottish Salmon topped with 23-karat gold flakes. The portion size was quite hefty (I estimate 150g) for this as I am normally used to eating smoked salmon is small amounts. I would recommend sharing this dish as it comes with a basket of toast to pair with the salmon. This dish is only priced at AED 90 and they did not hold back on the gold flakes.
DOT on her way was an invited guest at Emirates Palace.
However, all photos and opinions are of her own.
I hope you enjoyed my recommendations at Le Café, I definitely did to every last gold dust. Be sure to look out for new Le Café by the fountains to relish in your golden treats.
