Jazz@PizzaExpress, World Trade Center, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Welcome
Recently, Jazz@PizzaExpress launched a new spring menu so we had to go check it out. We were greeted by the super friendly and enthusiastic manager, Jaspreet. He passionately chatted with us about Jazz@PizzaExpress. This chain is in over 16 countries around the world. This location is 1 of 3 Jazz in the world and recently they have opened a Pizza Express over at Reem Island 2 weeks ago. I loved the restaurant concept of the live jazz. The name of the restaurant can confuse guests into thinking it is a casual pizzeria, when really it is an elegant establishment. The decor is beautiful with ample seating areas and a very welcoming bar. There was dim lighting that created a romantic and inviting atmosphere. It was a place they encouraged people to come for dinner and stay for the entertainment. I know friends who love to come here for the music and dancing!
Saturdays are date night at Jazz@PizzaExpress.
For AED 199 you can get 1 sharing starter, 2 mains, 2 desserts and 1 bottle of house wine.
Starter
With my husband, we were invited to sample the menu from Date Night. The menu includes a sharing starter, 2 mains, 2 desserts and 1 bottle of house wine. The must-try starter is the pizza dough balls which are a huge crowd favourite. It really was baked perfectly and makes me wanting more each bite. It comes with 5 different dip options , which is the sun-dried tomato and walnut dip, olive tapenade, chickpea and garlic, pesto Genovese, and garlic butter. We had tried all of them with the pizza dough balls and I have to say I am loving the sun-dried tomato dip. The olive dip was recommended by our server Bablu which my husband enjoyed even though he hates eating olives. I guess this is the only way to serve him olives!
Mains
Next we were each able to choose a main, there were over 24 options, mainly a different kinds of salad, pizza or pasta. I went for the Penne Contadina and my husband opted for the Polpette Bolognese pizza. I enjoyed the rich and flavorful pasta, cooked to my liking, al dante. It had roasted tomatoes, chicken, parmesan mixed with mushroom and tomato sauce. My husband devoured his pizza and said it was the best he’s ever had. It came in a thin crust pizza topped with meatballs with roquito peppers, rocket leaves and grated parmesan with Bolognese sauce.
Dessert & Wine
Lastly, date night is not complete without evening sweets. I was able to pick both the desserts which I chose the Bombolini with Espresso Chocolate Sauce and Chocolate Fudge Cake. For these, they do take around 15 minutes to bake to perfection. Bombolini is a shareable dessert that comes in 4-5 pieces. I really enjoyed dipping them into the espresso sauce. The chocolate fudge cake comes with a scoop of homemade gelato!
The evening was paired with the recommended Soave white wine. I enjoyed this Italian wine very much as I love it sweet and not too dry.
